The producers start the film with a point of view shot of a police helicopter in the air-this suggests to the audience that the film is going to include lots of crime and will have similar conventions to a gangster film. The shot is used to create effect and make the audience feel as if they are there looking up at the helicopter and creates escapism.
When the opening scene starts it has music in the background, the music has a fast beat which could suggest it is used to give off a bad vibe foreshadowing what will happen later on in the film.
It also starts with a range of images and short clips (usually CCTV footage) this shows that the film will consist of violence which sets the scene for the film. The CCTV footage shows the true detail of the fighting and makes the audience feel as if they are there. The use of CCTV is clever because it shows the actors walking away from the camera making it seem like something is about to happen, it also makes the audience feel as if they are watching the actors through a CCTV camera.
The font of the text shown on the screen in the opening two minutes is mainly white which is very basic, however it is used on a black background and it's also in bold capital letters making it stand out. The cast names are shown in front of a red, yellow and black background which suggests that violence and danger could follow. The producers also chose to have the background flashing-this suggests that the flashing could symbolise sirens of an emergency vehicle foreshadowing what will happen later.
Overall the opening two minutes set the mood for the rest of the film and the clever work by the producers of using images of newspapers and CCTV footage show the audience what the film is about.
