The film opens with an establishing shot showing an elderly man walking in a cemetery towards a specific grave- this makes the audience wonder who the man is, creating an enigma. The audience then see a French and American flag introducing the theme and genre of the film. The old man then stops by a grave and falls to his knees crying-this shows that he has a strong relationship with the dead soldier indicating that an important character will die. The camera then pans down awaay from the grave and the scene cuts to a beach covered in anti-tank obstacles- this shows the audience the setting of the scene. A date then appears on the screen-this is significant because it says June 6 1944 (D day) this indicates the setting and plot of the film. We are then introduced to the main protagonist-we know this because the shot is a close up when he is amongst a group of people but the camera only focuses on him. A close up is then used to show his hand which is shaking-this is significant because usually in war films the main protagonist is brave and not worried about anything, but the fact that Tom Hanks's hand is shaking shows the realism of thefilm and makes the audience think about how people felt when they were in that situation.
Overall the opening two minutes give the audience an insight to what the genre of the film is and who the main protagonists are.
The football factory is a film directed by Nick Love and stars Danny Dyer,Tamer Hassan, Frank Harper, Roland Manookian, Neil Maskell and Dudley Sutton. It is about a group of Chelsea supporters who take football supporting to the next level, they fight other teams firms for fun.
The producers start the film with a point of view shot of a police helicopter in the air-this suggests to the audience that the film is going to include lots of crime and will have similar conventions to a gangster film. The shot is used to create effect and make the audience feel as if they are there looking up at the helicopter and creates escapism.
When the opening scene starts it has music in the background, the music has a fast beat which could suggest it is used to give off a bad vibe foreshadowing what will happen later on in the film.
It also starts with a range of images and short clips (usually CCTV footage) this shows that the film will consist of violence which sets the scene for the film. The CCTV footage shows the true detail of the fighting and makes the audience feel as if they are there. The use of CCTV is clever because it shows the actors walking away from the camera making it seem like something is about to happen, it also makes the audience feel as if they are watching the actors through a CCTV camera.
The font of the text shown on the screen in the opening two minutes is mainly white which is very basic, however it is used on a black background and it's also in bold capital letters making it stand out. The cast names are shown in front of a red, yellow and black background which suggests that violence and danger could follow. The producers also chose to have the background flashing-this suggests that the flashing could symbolise sirens of an emergency vehicle foreshadowing what will happen later.
Overall the opening two minutes set the mood for the rest of the film and the clever work by the producers of using images of newspapers and CCTV footage show the audience what the film is about.
